it's been awhile since this webpage was updated due to many reasons, including the registration process of the Southside Mission, a lack of volunteers to assist with the numerous tasks. I will have the message boards back up and running soon! in the meantime please check out our Calender of Comming Events.
The Southside Mission is Non-Denominational, preferring to emphasize the Love of our Lord Jesus Christ rather than individual differences of interpretation. Our church is open to everyone, no one will be turned away!, with official membership also available. For information on becoming a member, e-mail us!
Salvation is for you!
Heavenly Father, I come to You in the Name of Jesus. Your Word says, "Whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved" (Acts 2:21). I am calling on You. I pray and ask Jesus to come into my heart and be Lord over my life according to Romans 10:9-10. "If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." I do that now. I confess that Jesus is Lord, and I believe in my heart that God raised Him from the dead.
I hope to make this page a pleasure for you to visit. The Southside Mission is a Christian Evangelical Outreach Program, It's about helping people and fairness. Treating all people alike no matter their age, color, gender, disability, Religion or financial situation. More will be added about our Street and Youth Outreach Programs
My mission is dedicated to helping others who are less fortunate in life, the sick, elderly, homeless and economically deprived. Everyone deserves respect, they want to be proud of who they are, and what they can accomplish, We all want love and friendship. It is a fact we will all grow old, times we will be ill, many of us have lost jobs, been displaced, phased out etc. lost a partner etc..
There are many programs that are available to help those in need, unfortunately many are not able to accommodate the number of people who require their help. Most of the Government Agencies, have a waiting list or by the time the forms are processed families are on the street because they couldn't pay their rent, many starve especially in low income families, due to the lack of low income housing.
Can we do anything? Yes we can help!
I encourage you to write your Government at the local, Provincial/State and federal level, asking for more funding to Social Programs, housing, shelters, counseling and prevention programs, Programs for people with mental or physical limitations.
Donate time, money or items to your local Food Bank,
thrift store and soup kitchen.
